Billiard Tips & Techniques - Frozen Cushion Shot

Rather read than watch? Read about the Frozen Cushion Shot below:

When To Use

This can be a common problem, especially if your opponent left you with the cue ball on the rail. In this scenario, it looks like you have a long, but straight in shot... and you do. However, because both balls are frozen to the rail you cannot make this shot by hitting center ball which is what your instincts will tell you to do.

How To Use

Instead, strike the cue ball slightly off center to send the cue ball away from the rail curving back into the object ball. This slight adjustment to a seemingly simple shot can be the difference between winning and losing as a center ball shot here will almost always send the cue ball away from the rail causing you to miss the shot completely.
